RESTRUCTURING AND EXTENSION OF CHATEAU SAINT MARTIN DE LA GARRIGUE - FRANCE
HISTORICAL ARCHITECTURE AND CONTEMPORARY LINES
Saint Martin de Garrigue
Facilities and activities
The Château Saint Martin de la Garrigue, near Montpellier, known for its vineyards and quality wine, has received someimprovements in order to better highlight this exceptional architectural heritage. A unused rear wing of the building was demolished in order to install a contemporary piece composing of a metal framework. Thanks to its enormously wide range, its transparency and its broad openings, the piece is able to completely link the interior towards two majestic courses. With a span of more than eleven meters, the large bays allow for versatility when using of the location for receptions, meetings, seminars (that can be extended to outdoor terraces), the park and the French garden.
On the second floor, the rooms of 'grand standing' open widely on the distant vineyards and pine forests. The original living rooms and bedrooms of the castle have also been redesigned and refurnished. This global renovation remains in the original spirit, thanks to a soft modernity which respects and ampli fies the beauty and the history of the castle.
